CAMT welcomes and exchanges knowledge with Musashino University, Japan.
College of Arts, Media and Technology, Chiang Mai University, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Worawit Chanchai, Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Phudinan Singkhamfu, Lecturer of the Department of Software Engineering (International) and the Research and International Affairs Unit, welcomed guests from Musashino University, Japan, led by Prof. Yasushi Kiyoki, Dean of Faculty of Data Science, along with Mr. Takashi Kumagai, Prof. Virach Sornlertlamvanich, Prof. Shiori Sasaki, Prof. Thatsanee Charoenporn, teachers of the Faculty of Data Science, and students of the Faculty of Data Science, totaling more than 12 people, to discuss and introduce the joint project on environmental management between Thailand and Japan and the workshop activities on digital image creation, composition, and post-processing of photographs. The students of the Department of Software Engineering (International) and researchers jointly presented their work, including:
- DustBoy Air Quality Monitor Air quality monitoring device can measure the amount of small dust particles in the air with a sensor system that can measure PM 5 and PM10 dust and report the dust situation in real time. It is installed in more than 400 locations nationwide, which helps with the smog problem in Chiang Mai. Dr. Haisam Samae, Deputy Director of the Climate Change Data Center (CCDC), also presented the work this time.
- BinGenius is a project about smart trash cans that use AI to separate trash and have sensors to check the amount of trash in the trash can. When the trash can is full, it will notify the staff and can also display information about trash thrown away by time period (year, month) via the website. You can check the location of the trash can in real time via the Line application. The work was presented by Ms. Chulalak Yeta, a student in the Software Engineering (International Program).
- Read ‘n’ Recharge is a project about providing a solar charging station that can be used by collecting study points and recording your daily mood. The system will give you points when you successfully study or record your mood. These points can then be used to charge your phone at the charging station. Presented by Ms. Noor-Iman Satimae, Mr. Puttipong Sailen, Software Engineering (International) students
The visit of Musashino University, Japan this time is considered to create cooperation and build good relations between both universities, including discussions on ways to create joint curricula and future cooperation on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at the College of Arts, Media and Technology, Chiang Mai University.
